The Round is Cambridge University's English Country Dance Society, and was founded on November 28th, 1928. The Round originally danced mainly Playford dances (think Jane Austen but less seriously) but now dances a mix of Playford dances, ceilidh dances, American style contras and anything else the callers fancy. Visitors and those with no University affiliation are very welcome to come along. No experience is necessary (all dances are walked through and explained, though student-level fitness and ability to pick things up tends to be assumed), and no partner is required.
Venue: Wesley Church Hall, King Street, Cambridge, CB1 1LD.
