| Description: | Dancing on Thursday evenings, 19:30 to 21:30. Mainly fourth Thursday of the month. Please check in advance. £5 per session. At Market House Studio, Bailey Hill, Castle Cary, BA7 7AH. Above the Tourist Information Centre. Over the year we learn English dances from mediaeval to Victorian times, working mainly on one period at a time. For example, January-June 2017, dances of the 18th century, practising for a Georgian Assembly in June. Could be described as Playford with extra steps, plus cotillions and a taste of minuet. Ever wondered where Playford comes from? We also do country dances Tudor-style plus Italian court dances and the flamboyant coranto. Good challenge, great fun. |
