| Description: | Meets at on Thursday evenings once a month, from 19:30h to 21:30. Usually first Thursday of month except May and December but please check in advance. £5. At Dorchester, St George Church Hall, off Fordington High Street, DT11LB. Hall is behind church. Plenty of parking. Each session stands alone and you can just turn up. Over the whole year we learn English dances from mediaeval to Victorian. It's not a costumed display team (though we can put you in touch with performance groups). We enjoy the challenge of more intricate figures and steps but have the same fun that we find in other ceili-type clubs we belong to. Tutor trains with Historical Dance Society. We run a Ball most years, dancing to a particular historical period, with music on period instruments by Doves Figary. |
