Playford Past, Present & Future

Colin Hume and Denise Devonald, calling. Peter Jenkins, accordion.

"Playford" has developed very differently in England and The States. We explore the differences. Colin Hume gives you the past: dances published by John and Henry Playford in 17th century England and a couple of Colin's from the 20th century. Denise Devonald gives you the present: dances written in 21st century America.

Denise Devonald calls at the flourishing Staplers Folk Dance Club in Hitchin, other clubs in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, and at Camden English Folk Dance Club. She called in the New Festival Callers Showcase at Eastbourne International Festival in 2018 and at Chippfolk 2019.
